“A Master Class With Bobby Fowler”

I’m a Michigan shooter (many years of experience) who found myself in Houston for the expert medical ministrations of MD Anderson. During my stay, I researched ranges and teachers and found what I thought as the jackpot: Bobby Fowler and Greater Houston Sportsmens’ Club. First the GHSC is no ordinary range. I’ve shot in many places, but GHSC is amazing: multiple clays courses, five-stand, skeet, FITASC. Weirdly enough the gun cleaning room is unique in its classiness and functionality.

But the true fun was taking some lessons with Bobby. Bobby is a legend: World Champion Sporting Clays Professional Competitor and Instructor. 3 x National Champion, 5 x Browning/Briley World Champion, 2 x US Open Champion, 7 x Texas State Champion, 2 x Silver Medalist World Champion. Texas State Hall of Fame.

I’ve taken many lessons and read and studied shooting sports with a passion. I bird hunt and compete, as well as shoot in charity events and for fun. My lessons with Bobby were very fruitful. Booby gets to his students on a level appropriate for the student. He saw my errors and had me fix them in a way I understood. The speed and accuracy of the fix was amazing.

When I come back to Houston, I’ll clearly look up Bobby again. Right now, I’ll be trying to get him up to Michigan to shoot some birds (and see what a hill looks like)
